KPMG Headquarters

This prime office location in central Douglas spans four floors, hosting over 150 staff daily. Following a building refurbishment, the aim of my engagement was to redesign each floor to cut down on traditional desk layouts and to encourage more collaborative, activity-focused workspaces between employees and teams.
One of the most important factors for this project was the adoption of sustainable materials across all furnishings. To embrace this, I reflected on the nature of the Isle of Man’s palette and texture.
In selecting pieces of furniture, it was important to balance practicality and versitility with careful selection of materials and colours. Decorative pieces like planters help divide the space without imposing on the open space.
Each floor was assigned a colour scheme, with the purpose of helping staff orientate through the builing.
A good example of sustainability thinking is the patch stools using fabric remnants from the production of larger sofas and armchairs.
