Eagle Lab

A local building services company recommended me to support the design and execution of Douglas’ first coworking space of its kind: Barclays Eagle Lab. I joined the project early, as budgets were being defined, and oversaw the whole creative process. Due to the functional requirements of the environment, I paid special attention to the practical application of lighting, furnishing and space utilisation.

My creative direction for the project was for an organic, nature-focused theme to reflect the wider environment of the Isle of Man. Earthy brown and stone-grey tones define the palette, with a reliance on reclaimed materials, renewable woods and recycled plastics. Where possible, materials were sourced on the Isle of Man.

Breakout area

This corner of the space was conceived with a more vibrant and playful theme, led by the furnishings and planters. The idea for the breakout area is to encourage occupants to gather informally, socialise and relax. Breaking from work to share tea or coffee with colleagues is an important work culture known as “fika” in Sweden.
